Get Experience

Don’t get trapped in a career you don’t love. In Step 4 of the exploration process, you’ll start acquiring real-world experience in the field you’re most interested in.

You’ve already researched careers with our IU Career Guides in Step 3, which means now you can focus on the opportunities that will accelerate your career planning—not interrupt it.

Best of all, we classify the work you’ll do in Step 4 as experiential learning—which means while you’re using your real-world experience to find out what you want out of your future, you can also leverage it as marketable experience on your resume.

Work with your career advisor to determine how different on- and off-campus engagement opportunities can bring you a few steps closer to a meaningful and fulfilling career.
