During your first year at IU, you might be considering a part-time job to help cover some of your financial responsibilities. As you consider your options, remember that you’ll be able to market this work experience to future employers and graduate school acceptance committees.
Maintaining a part-time job—even a summer job—throughout your academic career shows loyalty to an organization, as well as your work ethic and ability to manage time and to multitask.
You don’t need federal work-study to find on-campus work, but it does make you more marketable for on-campus employment. So if you have it, make sure you mention it to prospective on-campus employers.
