"Wherever you are, be all there." - Jim Elliot

Kelsey is originally from Nowata, Oklahoma. Upon finishing her Interior Design degree from Oklahoma State University, she headed off to the professional world in an unrelated field. After a short stint at recruiting for an IT firm, she quickly discovered that her goals and skills were much more suited to working with college students in higher education. Kelsey spent two recruitment cycles with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at OSU and realized that graduate school was the next step. Fast forward to today, and she is a first year student in the Higher Education and Student Affairs masters program. She loves working with students and watching them develop as they determine their paths. In her free time, Kelsey enjoys hanging out with her dog, Sophie, and cat named Kitty. She also loves live music, is an avid TV watcher, and is very excited to eat her way through Bloomington.

Best Career Blunder

Working for an IT recruiting firm.

Biggest Challenge

The vast majority of my work day was spent in my cubicle and on the telephone leaving voicemails. I really wanted more face to face interaction with people.

Lessons Learned

In this position, I discovered that I loved talking to people about their futures and what they were wanting out of their careers. Without this experience, I may not have ended up where I am.
