"Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive. " - Howard Thurman

Kathie is originally from northeast Ohio but has called Bloomington home for over half of her life. She loves living in a college town where there is always energy, events, and an atmosphere that encourages lifelong learning. Kathie was first inspired to pursue a career in higher education during her college years where she worked in residence life and on the student union board. While Kathie has always worked in education, she has most recently been an academic advisor at Indiana University and adjunct faculty at a local community college where she continues to teach. Kathie loves advising and teaching at the college level, and is passionate about helping students realize their potential and helping them to better understand themselves. Kathie enjoys watching sports & movies, reading, traveling, and taking long walks. But her favorite thing to do is spend time with Matt, her husband of over 25 years, with her four children, Gretchen, Mark, Allison, and David, and with her bernadoodle, Schatzi.
