Best Career Blunder

Working part time at a call center for a company that sold radio-controlled cars, planes, and boats.

Biggest Challenge

As an extrovert sitting in a cubicle taking calls and not interacting with people in person was difficult. Also having no background knowledge about radio-controlled cars made it challenging for me to learn about the products in order to up-sale which was expected. I tried to focus on the positive: my co-workers were nice, the hours were flexible, and it paid well for a part-time job.

Lessons Learned

It is important to believe in the work you do and to find a good fit for your personality. You may not be able to control everything that happens to you, but you can control how you respond. There is always something to be grateful for in any situation. Look for the positive and focus on it.
