"The real opportunity for success lies within the person, not in the job."
- Zig Ziglar

Vanessa is originally from Maplewood, New Jersey but moved to the Plainfield, Indiana area a few years ago. She is a senior studying Psychology and Gender studies with a minor in Counseling. She enjoys spending her free time drawing and reading. She is also very passionate about volunteering. She has close ties with Susie's Place, and the Ronald McDonald House. It was her love for volunteering that made her decide to pursue a counseling career. She hopes to work with kids in low SES areas and help provide them with the resources to live a happy and successful life.

Best Career Blunder

Raised $200 worth of donations for the Riley Children's Hospital.

Biggest Challenge

I used to have a very difficult time asking certain questions, I worked a lot of retail prior to this and often had to ask about donations or credit card signups. Being that I was not always the most outgoing person it was hard to step out of my comfort zone.

Lessons Learned

If you're confident and polite people, will respond much more positively than you may expect.
