Ochmaa Escue, Director of OVPDEI Overseas Studies & Scholarship Program, will discuss why overseas experience can positively impact skill development that employers desire. Learn about the variety of abroad experiences available to students at IU, how to pay for it & when to schedule an overseas experience to fit into your academic experience and co-curricular learning. Experience Matters: How to Find and Apply for Internships, Virtual Work Simulations, and Paid Micro Internships as a Student with a Disability

In this workshop, you will learn about the benefits of gaining work experience as a student with a disability, and how to find and apply for opportunities. Hear from a peer about how she found work experience as a student with a disability. Pizza will be provided for lunch. This event will be followed with a Fehribach Center open house where students can ask 1:1 questions about their summer intern program.

GROW Your Resume: A workshop

Learn how to highlight the valuable skills you have gained from your semester’s classroom and work experience and make your resume stand out from the crowd through an interactive guided reflection workshop. Students can expect to walk away from this conversation with more awareness of the skills they have, an idea of what skills they might wish to further develop, an idea of expanded career options based on relevant skills, and overall increased employability—gain self-insight and GROW!
