Management + Human Organization
How does the business world (also known as: “the real world”) work? Why does it work that way? The interdisciplinary major in Management + Human Organization (MHO) encourages students to explore both of these questions. With specially designed core courses and options from both the College of Arts and Sciences and Kelley School of Business, the major looks at business from multiple perspectives. It really is “Management Plus”!
Students in the major develop the fundamental communication, business, and analytical skills they need, while also gaining a critical understanding of the place of business in society today. Like the LAMP Honors Certificate (a distinct program), the major highlights synergies across the campus and makes connections that others have missed.The MHO curriculum is designed to help students:
- Communicate clearly and listen empathetically
- Collaborate effectively
- Become familiar with basic business skills and practices
- Develop intellectual agility
- Frame and answer questions using competing or complementary approaches
- Understand business in social, cultural, historical, and ethical contexts
Students earning this major are required to complete a minor in Kelley, O'Neill, or the College of Arts and Sciences.
